Many individuals who complete an
Associate of Applied Science degree plan will seek employment within their
degree specialty. However, the
information technology field is migrating to bachelor degrees for those who
seek long-term employment within the field.

The bachelor degree requires 123 semester hours of credit. Those who will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree plan for catalog year 2004-2005 from the Computer Science Technology Department at HCCS should be able to satisfy 54 of the 123 hours as follows:

Note 1: The Elective Computer Literacy requirement will be satisfied by the BCIS 1405 Business Computer Applications course from HCCS.
The above is based on the new
(pending Coordinating Board approval) degree plan at the
Computer Science Technology students at HCCS who graduated under degree plans prior to the 2004-2005 catalog should be able to (in most cases) have 54 hours earned at HCCS qualify towards the University of Houston requirements.
